Cristiano Ronaldo and the longest penalty in the world

first_imgBenatia, in fact, only played one more season in Juve and then they let him go for his poor performance. Now he plays for Al-Duhail in Qatar. On Friday he will be 33 years old. Perhaps now many would rectify the words they said about that penalty. 7 Today is two years ago from what we could call ‘the longest penalty in the world’. Not that I’m going to compete with the movie Roberto Santiago with the same title that in 2005 he starred successfully Fernando Tejero, but what happened in those final minutes of Madrid-Juventus on April 11, 2018 would have been enough for another film script. It was the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, with a clear advantage for the Zidane team. The Whites conquered Turin in the first leg (0-3), with Cristiano’s famous Chilean goal that caused a spontaneous ovation from all the youth fans, not knowing that they were laying the first stone there to get the Portuguese to leave Madrid for start your new sports project there. The case is that the penalty, which it occurred in the 93rd minute, it was not possible to shoot until 98 ‘. For five minutes the Italians went to their usual tricks to delay the launch and make Cristiano nervous. In vain. First until Buffon’s deputy, Pole Szczesny, came out. Then with the continued protests of Chiellini and company to the referee. They moved the ball twice from the penalty spot to decentralize the Portuguese. But Cristiano, to his. When he released the crack in the 98th minute the ball entered the square. The Bernabéu exploded with joy and joy. To the semifinals! Then Bayern Munich fell and in the final of Kiev they conquered against Liverpool of Klopp the Tredécima, the third followed by Zidane. But that is another story… The case is that the Italians, with nothing to lose, went 0-3 at the Bernabéu and tied the tie unbelievably. Ramos It was low by sanction and it was noticed a lot. Mandzukic he took advantage of Vallejo’s lack of minutes and with a double, plus a goal from Matuidi, they took the anguish to the stands of the Bernabéu. It seemed that the extension was inevitable when in the 93rd minute Benatia, the Moroccan central defender of the bianconeri, ran over Lucas Vázquez from behind. Of the clearest penalties that a server has seen, but it shows that the anti-madridistas believed that Juve was going to work the miracle because they turned the clear demolition into a pool that only existed in their imagination. Benatia, in fact, was one of the least protested. Yes, Buffon did, earning the red card for telling the Englishman Michel Oliver everything. Buffon, beside himself, went on to say in a mixed zone that “that decision is not made by a man, it is an animal. He lacked sensitivity for giving us a penalty in the discount with the effort we had made. “Come on, whether it is a penalty or not is the least of it for Ganluigi. You have to look at the minute and be sensitive to the guys who went 0-3 on the scoreboard …last_img read more
